Variations on Want

2022

Born out of a joint interest in language and narrative, Variations on Want is a translation of Charly Santagado's original poem (written in collaboration with Niko Popow) of the same name, which explores impossible desires and the repercussions of pursuing them. Visual artist Barbara Weissberger created a new photographic textile piece responding to the poem, Charly choreographed a dance in response to the textile, and Teddy Hyde composed original music loosely inspired by a classical ballet variation from Giselle.
